Turning a Sod

With our picturesque 10 acre site by the banks of the Owentocker river now fully prepared, work proper has commenced on the new distilling building. Quite literally, a landmark occasion!

Following a “turning of the sod” ceremony this afternoon with the Ardara Town trading community and our near neighbours we will immediately start piling for the foundations and substructure.

The distillery building will be ready to receive the three copper stills from legendary maker Forsyth’s next spring. COVID permitting we will be filling our new-make spirit in June 2021.

Unfortunately, not all the team could be there and moments like these should be shared. James, John and Dom couldn’t be with us. It was lovely having mum there which was lovely but Dad is in hospital recovering from another broken hip but at least he’s on the mend.
