Part B – The Silkie

That’s was some night, lessons to be learned for sure but great night. Great to feel the energy and support in the room, kind words from politicians and community leaders alike. 2 cocktails music and a confident evening with Silkie at John the Miners. The place was jumping.

It was lovely seeing the reactions of family and friends to the launch, and the two guests of honour who received the first numbered bottles. Jim Cunningham – Margaret’s dad and my aunty Mary McLoskey.

Huge lesson learned on timing ….frustrating start with people arriving on “Donegal time” as we now realise that a 20:30 start in Donegal means anytime before 22:00.

Sad thing was it meant we had less time talking to people than we would have liked. Oh well….what really matters is that the distillery gets built and that we create a successful spirits business that provides quality employment, enhanced tourism and community pride.

If they didn’t think we were serious, they do now!
