RECLAIMING THE DISTILLING HERITAGE OF DONEGAL
RECLAIMING THE DISTILLING HERITAGE OF DONEGAL
The Ardara Distillery, is the home of the Sliabh Liag Distillers, houses all our distilling operations and sits on the Show Field in the historic festival town of Ardara, overlooking the beautiful Loughrosmore Bay.
Tours of the distillery are available by appointment.
The mountain of Sliabh Liag (phonetically: Slieve League) stands sentinel over County Donegal on Ireland’s wild Atlantic coast. Often described as “a place apart” this remote and beautiful land yields the terroir, heritage and folklore for a team of scatterlings to embark on an exciting distilling journey.
The Ardara Distillery sits on the Show Field in the historic town of Ardara which overlooks the beautiful Loughrosmore bay. All the company’s distilling operations are in based in Ardara where An Dúlamán Irish Maritime Gin and the Ardara and Sliabh Liag Whiskeys are made.
Rooted in the legends of Donegal, our spirits reflect the long distilling heritage of the Sliabh Liag peninsula, with liquids of the highest quality that capture the essence of this wild coastal land and its people.
Often Bígí Linn (be-igee linn) means “be with us” and one of the joys at Sliabh Liag Distillers is the generous support we have received from near and far. Building the new whiskey distillery is a huge undertaking and if you want to take your involvement further, there are a few ways that may interest you, including owning your very own cask of Ardara Whiskey.
